What We Do

Our Mission      The mission of Rosenthal Law & Mediation is to support families through life's difficult transitions by providing intelligent and compassionate counseling, mediation, and legal representation.

Adoption

We represent parents who want to adopt through second-parent (lesbian and gay) adoptions, step-parent and kinship adoptions, and foster-parent adoptions. We will counsel you and prepare adoption documents, ensuring that the process is as smooth as possible. We also represent birth mothers who are interested in surrendering their parental rights. We have worked on hundreds of adoptions. You can rest assured that you are in good hands in the celebration of adding to your family.   More...

Family Mediation

We have mediated with all types of families to solve problems together regarding issues of divorce, custody, parent-teen, relationships, caretaking, estates, and probate. We specialize in working with non-traditional families and in issues of elder mediation.    More...

Collaborative Law

The collaborative process, used primarily in divorce, is a model where the parties sit down with their lawyers to negotiate an agreement. Neutral coaches, child and financial specialists can often be an important part of the equation as well. The lawyers' job is to support their clients while keeping a "mediative consciousness." We are well-versed in this wholistic approach.   More...

Family Law

We represent individuals in many aspects of family law, including prenuptial agreements, uncontested divorce, foster-parent advocacy, and services to LGBT families. In addition, we are often called upon to consult with individuals who are engaged in divorce mediation or to review mediated agreements.    More...

Estates Law

We will prepare the will or trust you need for proper estate planning. In addition, we recommend each client to have a health care proxy, living will, and power of attorney, which we will also prepare.

After a loved one dies, her or his estate must often be handled through the Surrogate's Court. If she or he had a will, this process is called probate; if not, it is called administration. We will help guide you through the process of getting the correct authority to gather and distribute the assets your loved one left behind.   More...
